Nowstalgic is a contemporary sans-serif inspired by Windsor, a typeface known for its widespread use, from the Whole Earth Catalog to Woody Allen’s film credits. Nowstalgic refines this legacy, preserving its warmth while introducing a more sophisticated typographic system. The result is a balance of familiarity and freshness, offering both emotional resonance and functional clarity.

The design features soft geometry, subtle humanist details, and a consistent typographic color achieved through controlled contrast across all weights and sizes. Alternates are integral to the system: the alternate g references Benguiat’s two-story form, while c, s, f, and their uppercase counterparts introduce distinctive terminal treatments that move the tone from neutral to expressive. The mixed-bowl g with a teardrop terminal adds a detail that bridges vernacular and refined aesthetics. These alternates provide designers with two distinct voices within one family.
